Montezuma
Montezuma is a lively entertaining village famous
for its cosmopolitan nightlife. The village is located on
the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula on the Gulf side.
This part of the world's untouched nature is the most stunning
feature of Montezuma. Nature lovers can enjoy the endless
pristine beaches, waterfalls in the jungle and the
absolute nature reserve Cabo Blanco, with it's abundant
wildlife.
Activities
Snorkeling trips are offered to Tortuga Island, horseback
riding on the beach, bird watching tours, canopy tours, kayaking,
hours long walks along undeveloped beaches, scuba diving {only
in high season} and surfing are just some of the activities
offered. Pick your adventure!
Shopping
Take a stroll through Montezuma and you will find a variety
of local artists displaying their unique artwork.
Restaurants
Montezuma has a very good selection of different restaurants,
including mediterranean food, italian food, sushi and good
local costarican food. Get a taste of some local cuisine.
How
to get to Montezuma?
First
you get to Costa Rica... San José is the capital, so lets
start there.
You will find several ways to get to Montezuma from San José.
by
AIRCRAFT
You can fly from San José to Tambor, a 25 minute flight over
mountains, jungle, gorgeous coastline and exotic islands,
on Sansa Airlines or Nature Air local airlines. Let us know when you are planning on arriving
and we will send a taxi to pick you up in Tambor.

CAR
Drive to Puntarenas from San José (2 hours), from Puntarenas
you will need to take the car ferry (Departs
every 2 hours. First departure
4:30 am-last

pm)
over
to Paquera (1-1/2 hour), then drive 1 hour through the beautiful,
tropical countryside to Montezuma.

BUS
Take the direct bus to Montezuma, leaves from the "Coca-Cola"
bus terminal in San José, 3x per day 7:30
am, 12.30pm and 3:00 pm.
Once you are in Montezuma, we are just on the other side of the Montezuma river, facing the Pacific Ocean.
